Happy December from Bespoke Blossoms! While no snow has fallen yet, the chilly temperatures definitely remind us it is winter. We’ve been busy creating in the studio and are in the fully holiday swing making lots of wreaths and our holiday bouquets. As we are getting into the holiday spirit we are reminded one of the most special parts of this season, giving back! This year we are super excited to announce our partnership with Rainbow Kitchen for this years Blooms for Benefit project.

Rainbow Kitchen is a Victoria based registered not-for-profit whose focus is simple feeding people. They are open as a safe place that everyone is welcome to come get a hot meal with no questions asked, with a focus on anyone who needs access to fresh and healthy food or anyone in need of social interaction. Their motto is; Filling the belly. Feeding the soul and we think that is such an important message, especially in 2020. Besides offering a daily hot meal they also run multiple other programs dealing with food insecurity. 1 in 8 Canadian households struggles with food insecurity, and with our current uncertain times there is an even greater need.

This is what Patrick Johnstone, their director, had to say "The Rainbow Kitchen is the second largest "Soup-Community Kitchen" in the CRD, and the only that has a strong focus and is able to welcome youth, children, young families and single parent families inside when times allow.  Known in our community for over a decade now of serving tasty and nutritious Lunches to our community 5 days a week, 50 weeks of the year.  No registration required, no questions asked upon arrival, Staff and Volunteers strive to ensure FoodSecurity issues are met and pressures released for each guest that visits our door, no one leaves empty handed.

Dedicated to sharing good food with our community, 2019 saw the Rainbow Kitchen further develop a Food Sharing program that offers bulk donations of goods to local schools in district 61, or organizations supporting similar programs in Food Security.  Between, our Food Sharing program (creating 72,000+ meal equivalents) and our In House Hot Lunches (producing 30,000+ Hot meals each weekday) the Rainbow Kitchen fed over 102,000 meal equivalents to our community last year, and during Covid-19's ongoing global pandemic, the Rainbow Kitchen is poised to add another 20,000 meals to to 2020's total."

From December 6th to the 24th $8 from each Home for the Holidays bouquet will be given directly to Rainbow Kitchen. This bouquet is one of our more festive one and we hope you are able to bring holiday cheer into yours or a loved ones home with it while also giving back to an incredible organization.

Stay tuned to our instagram for a fun flower flash happening in a surprise location around Victoria in collaboration with Rainbow Kitchen! We are super excited to create something not just beautiful for the season but to spread awareness about this organization!
